Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. – Luke 6:36
*Acts of perfection!*
Matthew’s version of this says be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.( Mtt.5:48). But Luke’s version says be merciful as your heavenly father is merciful. They sound different but they are the same. We reflect God-like attributes by showing mercy, kindness and forgiveness. It is said that forgiveness is divine. The heart of God is mercy. To be merciful, to forgive those who offend you, and to be kind to everyone even to those who don’t deserve it are practical ways of becoming perfect.
_Prayer_
Lord Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like unto thine. Help us to grow in our ability to show mercy. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who offend us. To you be glory and praise, now and forever more.
